Emergency Management
Emergency Management.
Municipalities face many unexpected hazards and emergencies, from accidents and technology failures to infrastructure issues like power outages. Natural disasters, especially severe weather, also pose significant risks to communities. The Port Hawkesbury Emergency Management Plan provides a clear framework to ensure our municipality is prepared for various emergencies. This plan details how resources will be mobilized quickly to restore normalcy and clarifies the roles of all agencies involved. It also emphasizes a coordinated response to emergencies and acknowledges the need for additional expertise and resources when necessary.
We know that extreme weather events are not a matter of “if” but a matter of “when.” The Town has an emergency management plan produced by the Emergency Management Advisory Committee and adopted by Council.
